Emilia MeleMusic Director
Emilia Mele is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis on choral conducting. She has 12 years of experience in teaching and conducting music classes, performing ensembles, and choirs (school, community, and church). Of all of the wide ranging facets of a musical life, she claims arranging and conducting choral music to be her favorite activity.
Emilia Mele, known as "Mele", grew up in the Pinellas County, Florida, school system where she excelled at singing, choral conducting, and piano accompanying, winning awards in all of these areas, as well as her ability to sightread music. She has used her musical abilities to create original songs, arrangements, and productions, and is adept at customizing those products to suit the audience or performer needs. This is useful for redirection and shaping the sound of an existing choir or music ensemble. Second only to choral conducting, Mele loves to sing and play piano. She has been a professional entertainer for more than 30 years, including 14 years with Carnival Cruise Lines and the last 7 years with Universal Orlando, where she is presently employed. Mele is honored to be returning to MCC Tampa! |
